Thanks for continuing the discussion on this. The draft: I tried to use 1.15b last time but maybe I got it wrong. This time I am going to run 1.15b and 1.16 alongside each other until the new players are out and then we can compare files. We'll run with the 1.15b what ever the outcome is as there is no way I can duplicate randomised game decisions on two files, but it will let us see if it works or not and we can move forward on the next draft from there. Pot Increase: I would still like to use Potential increases as a reward, but I will limit it to a maximum increase to Potential 7 and limit it to under 21's. That shouldn't create any superstars but could help with a bit of depth on teams that the draft isn't. Ceiling Increase: Sorry, not going to happen. We tried this in the last league and we couldn't get it right. We just ended up with teams of 99 stat players all over the place. I don't want to risk that happening again. Boom and Busts: I increased the Booms last season from 8 to 10 and kept the busts to 4. I'll stick with that this year as I think 10 is a good amount. Game sliders: I'll increase the sliders for injuries to 120, but GM's will need to keep track of their lines and injuries. I also want to increase penalty and fighting sliders to 140. GM Less teams: I think i've managed them pretty well this season, other than trades, but thats because i'm abysmal at trades. Any help would be appreciated. Better yet, new GM's people. We'll talk about this more over the off season as I do want to reward activity, help, recruitment etc but not sure how just yet. We are probably looking at 10 GM less teams this season, which is the highest we've ever had. I'm not sure where we can recruit from. Suggestions? Rewards: This is a revised version of what I want to do. I've lowered the Pot limit to 7 as mentioned above and removed the rewards for Pro team finishing places. I'll leave the con maximum level at 80 for now and may look at increasing it next season if we find its not enough this season. Award | Reason

Nope no cap change.
However, lets talk about compensation changes. We lowered them along time ago to encourage RFA offers but there have hardely been any still, do we need to lower them again? Quick answers folks as RFA isnt far off.

Not to be blunt Stephen but this is a non-issue, I think. Most teams have plenty of room to sign all of their RFAs and the ones who aren't signed aren't worth much (less than their comp). Really the only time RFA's of worth would get offers is if a GM goes AWOL or doesn't have a interim manager to make sure it doesn't happen. I'd say we leave this one alone and fine tune/confirm other areas of concern.

Stephen I agree that a clarification on the con points for rookies. With only 2 sims doing all games would it not make more sense to let GM's pick up to a max of 5 rookies that played all games or part of them and assign points?
I would think that something like the following might be better:
Rookie A plays 8 games - He is eligible for a max of 4 con points to be awarded to him Rookie B plays 5-6 games - He is eligible for a 3 con point increase. Rookie C plays 3-4 games - He is eligible for a 2 con point increase. Rookie D plays 1-2 games - He is eligible for a 1 con point increase.
We could limit would still limit it to a maximum of 5 rookies gaining the con awards. Gm's then can post in another thread there list of rookies that get the award, amount of games played and the amount of con points awarded to the player.
Anyways just food for thought...
A system like this gives incentive for GM's to play rookies with less then an 80 con value all 8 games as it really is 4 easy points that can be awarded to them.

The other way we can maybe do this is if a team plays 5 rookies per game for all 8 preseason games then he gets 20 con points to be used over rookies that actually played games. We could implement a 2-3 preseason game minimum for eligibility along with the less then 80 con. Again GM's would post player name, number of games played, and the amount of con points awarded. Use your max of 4 points per player.
This way if I say have 9 rookies/prospects that have less then 80 con I have an incentive to play them all if I want and give them some increases.

Hold Up time out HALT lol
I need to understand what this means:
1 Con points - per rookie - max 5, per set of lines sent in - max 4.
Also where do we post these con boosts?... Need answers soooo confused.

Ok clarification on the rookie rules. When I thought of this I had it in my mind that I was running 4 sets of 2 games to cover the 8 preseson games. Obviously its only 2 sims covering 4 games each. I think seans suggestion for how to distribute points is slightly better in theory and will look at probably running it that way next sim, but I also think its a lot more work checking up on what player played how many games and pre-season sims already take a long time so let me think on it.
This season, if you sent in lines for the first sim you will get 10 con points to give to any rookies that played in pre-season ( amaximum of 5 points to any one player) if you sent in lines for the second sim you will get another 10. This is the equivelant to getting 5 per instructions is we played 4 rounds of 2 instead of 2 rounds of 4.
Where to post who you want those points to go to? Just send then in your normal normal instructions. I don't want another forum topic to keep track of as honestly, i'm struggling. At the end of each pre-season I will post a chart of what teams earnt what points.

Rookies = players who have played 10 or less NHL regular season games? I believe 11 is when you lose rookie eligibility.
I'm not going to count games. I am simply going to open up the statistics tab in the game and select rookies only from the drop down box. Those players will be rookies who have played in pre-season games and only those player will be eligable for the points.

I created a new section in the "Transactions and Team Discussions" section for posting your rewards. This way we can all see who gets what and there should be no disputes that arise. This will also allow us to better track who got what etc... globalhockeyl.proboards.com/board/25/rewards

Others have volunteered to help out and you need to start to let others do so. Why do you need to be the one do do all of the sims, adds, running of the gmless teams etc.? This is quite ridiculous for you to do all of that alone. Rewards need to be tracked via a forum and can be done by any of the GM's in this league. Just pick a day once a week the day after a sim and someone can make the edits and reupload the game file. I think having GM's send the rewards in their emails is a big mistake and should be something that is transparent to all GM's. I would be able to do the edits once per week and upload a the file to the dropbox.

I agree if things like rewards are posted on the boards there is no room for accusations and that kind of stuff.
