A lifeblood of any league is the activity of its GMs and Commish. If we can't get new GMs, then we need to adapt. But I agree with you Juha, we're better served with 30 GMs than 15 servicing 2 teams.

I view these leagues as very much a social aspect - hard to be social if there is no commune to socialize in besides a message board, and nobody to do it with. That's not on Stephen, he is one guy running league operations. Frankly, I think the problem is on every remaining active GM -- we need to do more to bring in GMs and bring up the activity.

I'd strongly consider staying if we had closer to 20 GMs or more, because then the league would have some parity, movement, energy, etc. Its hard to do that when it feels like you're playing against a computer.

I did create a discord channel for us that I think would be beneficial but no one seemed interested.

If you're going to have a chat room, or whatever, for the league, you'd have to enforce it so it's used by the GMs. If you don't, then most GMs wont bother using it

I've tried man...others have got to try themselves. I already brought RJ into the league from that crew. I wish I could bring more but a lot of guys simply don't play.

We've got to consider our own social networks and perhaps reach out to other leagues to get GMs. 12 of us won't do it.

This is my favorite file, I don't wanna see the league fold....

Suggestions:

- Lower Stephens work load get a 2nd simmer to minimize missed sims
- Steal all of Martins GMs in INHL and Dans in RLHL
- Make nerd friends who like numbers and hockey and try to recruit them
- Post for a good time and boards URL in public washrooms
- Develop Bi-polarity and create two different aliases
- Jimbo can recruit convicts on his island of unwanted dolls
- Scrape the bottom of the barrel and get Roger back
- Tell John there's a weed payout if he wins, he may come back but he'll never win so no loss in funds
- Email all former gm's and ask them to join
- change the forums domain and misspell a porn name, people may come to site accidently and fall in love
- Text random people and ask them if they wanna try it out
- Email random people pretend to be an African prince looking for gms
- Get Martin to teach it in school

The problem with forcing this on GM's is that many of the remaining ones will walk away from the league.  I don't have time in life anymore...nor the desire to be forced to put x amount of time into a chat room because of some league rule. 

I also think we need another simmer or 2 but that really is up to Stephen and so far he won't let go of full control despite many of us wanting him to add help and some volunteering to assist. 

I am wondering how many GM's that the RLHL has left. I am thinking that it may be time for considering a merger of the two leagues into one with more GM's. Yeah I know this option may not be popular but food for thought.  Other then the staff part of the RLHL I do like that league and would like us to consider a merger with them.

I've asked several times for people to help but no one has offered to do anything beyond occasional simming.
It would need to be like it was before where whoever sims needs to do so every week.

I agree about the chat room. I'm just saying that if you want a chat room to have any significance, you'd have to enforce it. And yes, it would scare away many GMs. But really, it's the only way to get lots of activity in the league. It forces people to be in the same place for X amount of time.

Another simmer is definitely a good idea.

A merger could be tricky, but it could be a great idea to improve the popularity of 2 dwindling leagues. It's something that we would all have to discuss since it would mean that one league is losing their entire file and therefore, a lot of GMs hard work to build their team.
