OK, so the salary cap issue has become an issue for a couple of reasons.
1. Teams over the cap
2. Signing players, making trades or claiming waivers that put teams over the cap.
3. Salary cap level.
Salary Cap.
We put the salary cap in place to try and spread the better players out around the league. To be honest, that has not worked as well as I had hoped, but it is starting to have a little bit of an effect now and I am inclined to leave it that way to see how things pan out. Yes, this means teams will have to give up some players and manage their rosters and salaries better and make better trades. I think all of this will actually improve the league.

Teams over the cap.
This has mainly affected two teams this season; Tampa Bay and Montreal.
Glen (Montreal) has some issues accessing the game and contacted me about that. Windows 10 wasn't letting him load the game and we had to try different things to get it to work, so he wasnt able to address the cap issues. I was aware of this and no action will be taken against Montreal because of this. Montreal are still over the cap but I recieved lines from Glen today so I hope hes back now. I have informed him of the cap issue.
Ian (Tampa) Has been trying to get under the cap and he keeps going under then over then under and so on. Part of this was down to me making fast signings, so, because he has been getting under the cap and ive been putting him back over, no action will be taken against Tampa either. Tampa is currently under the cap.

We used to do this before in the old GHL when the cap got tight. No signings, trades or waivers will be allowed that put you over the cap unless you can show how you will be able to get under the cap. In trades we used to put cap values as a result of the trade. We dont necessarily need to go back to this but you can't intentionally go over the cap until the trade deadline, and then only to re-sign players, no UFA's or RFA's allowed. This applies to matching RFA offers as well i'm afraid. If it puts you over the cap, you cant match an offer. Sorry, but this all goes back to the idea of spreading the players around the league more.
Feel free to comment, but unless there is an extremly compelling argument that improves the LEAGUE, not individual teams, it wont change.
