To Detroit Evander Kane (70) To Tampa Bay 2029 Detroit 5th Round Pick I Confirm well is it okay to trade between teams of one manager? i don't doubt that Kane is better than 5th pick but it looks a bit like solving quickly current problems for one team and good benefit for another Why not to trade him to any other team for 5th pick? pretty sure Dal or Cbs or Nyi would do that, they are trying to get into PO's

Yeah, last I heard, you can't trade between 2 teams that share the same GM. But, trading Kane should put him under the cap after he demotes a few players

I also didn't think a GM could trade between his teams. I guess if the trade makes sense for both teams I wouldn't object to it but I think it should be a last resort after other avenues have been pursued. Both my Islanders and Canucks have cap space and would be interested in Kane.

I think other options should have been explored first. If a trade with another GM couldn't have been made, then I am ok with the trade happening. But seeing as though another GM would have made the trade for Kane, that should be the first course of action. To me, it looks like this was your first move to get under the cap. You never made a post to the league saying that you are looking to trade Kane to get under the cap. If you would have done that, and had no offers, then I'm all for you trading him to DET.
If we allow this trade without first exploring other options, then that opens up more moves like this between GMs and the teams they are caretaking for.

I did agree to this trade as tampa needed to get under the cap but others raise a valid point, so, if anyone else wants Kane, they can make an offer, (include me in any messages so I can see an offer was made). If no offer is made, the trade will go ahead next sim.
