OK so instead of starting this during the play-offs and leaving it all last minute, I'm going to start this now, with final decisions due at the end of the first series. The Last Hurrah At the end of the season, one player who was due to retire decides to give it one last shot for glory and offers his services for a nominal salary of $100,000, but he only offers this to the team he used to dream of playing for when he was a kid.
How will this be implemented? Each retiree will be given a number, 1 to whatever, and each time will have their number of 1 to 30. Well will do a random number roll for the player and the team, however, the player cannot return to the team he was previously on. If that team is rolled, a second roll for team will be made.
Now, this player could be an utter stinker or he could be that seasons MVP. Teams cant reject taking the stinker on and he must take up a pro team spot.

This is an interesting one. I'm ok with this, but I would say he shouldn't come back at such a low salary.

I am bringing forth the idea of an agent system for UFAs. Have a committee of 3-5 that work as "agents" for UFAs when they receive multiple offers from teams (if a GM that's on the committee puts in a bid for a UFA, he wouldn't take part in that agent decision). Our default decision maker here is always money, but we know that it does not always come down to that (i.e., location, role on team, chance at a cup, etc)
What do you guys think?

Didnt we try that before? I think like the idea of the Trade Comittee, it didnt work because not enough people were logging in and taking part in it.

No TC even NHL teams make bad trades from time to time.

The UFA committee is a good idea, however, I do not think it would work with the number of GM's that we have left.

No TC even NHL teams make bad trades from time to time. Well, we don't technically have a trade committee, but I know I still look into trades that are made just to make sure it isn't completely one-sided. I'd say something if I thought it was, but that's really only happened once I think

It would be nice, however, I will not get my hopes up.

Here's an interesting one that Arty mentioned about signing players with 1 year left on their current deals to new contracts. It is an advantage to do it at the start of the season (less money) before they develop even more (raising their asking price). What if we did not allow GMs to do that, until at least a certain point of the season? Either January, or once the season is over?

GMs should be allowed to sign their own player's when they want to. Who cares if its cheaper at some points of the season.
