The proposal is to boost the potential of a random number of UFA players between the age of 21 and 23.
Their POT scoe will be increased up to:
7 for players with 4 or 5
8 for players with 6 or 7
9 for players with 8 (there are iunlikely to be many of these)
Goalies will be included, so we could see a few POT 8 goalies appears.
The problems I forsee are:
1. Starting bidding wars with silly salaries being offered, however, this will only benefit teams well under the cap, who may also be teams with weaker players.
2. I will know who all the best boosters are. I could sit out the bidding myself, but I also look after a lot of teams and that would be unfair.
3. Should the list be anonymous or open to all. If anonymous, I will still know who they are.
Solutions:
1. We could limit the salaries to a maximum of $2,000,000 salary and bonus, and length to 2 years with no PO or TO, but this favours strong teams who could afford such salaries.
2a. If we go anonymous, I will bid only after the UFA rounds are over.
2b. If we go listed, I will send my bids in to another GM before anyone else and they can say if I won or not.
