Aww a big paragraph I cant read that much.. I am pretty sure you where the guy that complained about con boosters in INHL. Just let. 70 million cap is ok by me. If any thing we should force GMS with a cap floor of 30 million to sign use full players for their club so they cant tank.

I was the guy. I left because I didn't agree with the file. Terrific group of guys and I was very gracious to be invited to join the league. Can't say enough about the work put in by Martin, John, and the rest of the GMs over there. If your complaining that I complain and offer solutions...I don't know what to tell you.
More central to the point at hand, I agree with your tank idea. I think Commish could do a quick breeze through and if guys are using players under 65 OV, for example, when better players are out there, we could force some signings. I don't like being overtly forced, though. There may be better options but it is actually a good starting point.

No to cap floor it wont work.
Only suggestion I have would be to pull the cap back, but thats likely going to kill teams that were planning on it staying at 70. So that wouldnt be fair. We should have probably started it at 60/62 and gone up to 70, but never mind. Leave it at 70 and it will sort itself out in a few seasons as others have mentioned.
Good debates often spark opposite views, but lets keep any personal attacks out of it.

a cap floor with a limit of 1 year deals to players that have to be signed to high end paying deals. So John Buckley 9 mill for 1 year just to get teams over the cap floor. They also have to PLAY that player the whole year or until they get over cap and can buy that player out

I know I'm new to this league, and this is kind of an old topic of discussion, but I have to agree that the cap is way too high right now. Player contracts in this league are extremely low and only 5 teams are spending over $60m, while 16 teams are actually spending under $50m.
As previously said by Joe, the player salaries and the cap simply aren't aligned.
I really think we should lower the cap during the next off-season because as of right now, it's quite useless.

This roster has only been running for 3 seasons and some players had very long contracts to start. We also had to roll back alaries twice to get the cap to 70 because some of the teams where over the $100,000,000 mark.
From the last roster, we had a lower cap, and it was reached fairly quickly. The cap is in place, along with the 4 year contract rule, to prevent one team hording all the players. In a couple of seasons I expect several more teams to be close to the cap and for the UFA to open up a lot more.
A minimum cap is something that could be looked at but I dont really see the need myself.

Why place a minimum? Force a gm to make stupid signings? EHM if we don't enter things manually doesn't allow low cap tanking teams to get anything in UFA and all you really have to look forwards to is a draft. Booooring

The only reason we had a minimum on contract in place was to try and stop gm's signing stars to tiny contracts. However, it was never very effective.
