Ya, I get that. I saw some random person on twitter point out that the midfield lacked a good passer which I definitely think is the case. They noted that Jonjo Shelvey, despite his faults, might have been useful there. From what I've seen Shelvey is calming and he's still just 26, so who knows, he might be able to fill that role (even if just off the bench), in the future. I wonder if Oxlade-Chamberlain might have been useful in a similar way, but I think he's generally farther up the field. Too bad Milner didn't want to go.
... I feel like my Liverpool bias is showing. I know them more than other teams -shrug-

Well, someone has to be a Liverpool fan, but there are treatments you can get for that these days.

Haha, ya, I mean, I'm almost more of an "Anbody-but-United" fan than a Liverpool fan some days, but you can't tell me Liverpool haven't been fun to watch the last couple seasons. Who do you support?

Watford. Blame the family, that's where they are from.

pfft, England loses once again they are nothing but a bunch of tossers lmao. I was really hoping that they would have pulled this one off. This was a prime opportunity for England to win a world cup. Going into the tournament if you would have told me that they would make the semi finals I would have been ecstatic as that is some good progress for a team that seems to always find a way to crap the bed and lose. The reality of the loss is that I thought they went into a conservative mode after the 35th minute which in today's football does not work.
I am looking forward to seeing how England does in the next Euro cup as I think they have finally started to build an international team that can make some serious noise. They will need to change a couple of pieces here and there but I do think they are headed in the right direction.

Watford. Blame the family, that's where they are from. Ouch, ya. At least you've got Elton? My family didn't really follow soccer/football when I was growing up, so I didn't get attached to a specific team through them. If I did go that route I'd be cheering for Cardiff (where my grandmother was born), Tottenham (rumour has it my great grandfather had a trial there, but I suspect it was just a youth team trial or something like that), or one of Bristol and Norwich (where I have distant cousins who I've never met). Instead I watched some games, loved Torres, Hyypia and Skrtel (they're sort of how I envisioned that I would play for the most part), and others and got hooked to Liverpool. Learning about the tragedy of Hillsborough and the leftist nature of the city only made me more of a fan.

My dad played for Watford School Boys but injured his knee and had to have cartlidge removed and that was the end of the football for him. I've only ever been to one game.
I think England can do well in the Euro's but we are still a few players short imo. We've always struggled to have a left winger and we need at least two forwards who can score at this level. The biggest problem however is out inability to dribble and tackle. We're taught to pass the ball in offence and cut of routes in defence. We rely heavily on european players for actual skills.
That seems to have changed with some of the younger kids. I hope that continues and they dont just become the egofreaks of the last two decades. Sadly, stirling is already one of those. Someone who thinks that if he kicks the ball it should automatically go in.
